Unveil Her: The Poem

Your life is like a big ocean wave,
running toward shore.
It bellows from its belly,
screaming for something more.

The higher it gets
the more it reaches,
higher and higher and higher
until it hits the floor.

Confused and dazed
it didn’t get what it was aiming for.
Again it tries, here me roar!

Again she hits the floor.

Saddened and crippled
she can go no further,
But that won’t stop her.

The higher she gets
the more she reaches,
higher and higher and higher
until she hits the floor.

Confused and dazed
She didn’t get
what she was aiming for.

Again she tries, here me roar!

A cool breeze
touches her peak.
What’s this? She wonders
how they can meet.

Hello my friend,
are you done yet?
I’m here to give you
solace and rest.

Oh yes please,
she spills in agony.
Tired of trying
it must be me.

I cannot reach the beach
or trees or birds or bees,
For there I will find rest
from my grumble beneath.

Oh gentle breeze, will you please?

Yes my dear, I am here.
Settle and you will see
those trees are not meant for you,
You have what you need.

She quieted. She calmed.

She lay so still she could see
her own reflection in the ocean floor.
It’s there she found
what she was looking for.

She saw beautiful fish and shiny pearls
right under her all along.
She glistened and sparkled
Her light beaming
as she sang her song.

I am a wave hear me roar
Inside my heart beckoned for more,
The gentle breeze offered me light
That I can live without fright.

Together we dance calmly
above the ocean sand,
I can clearly see the birds now
Enjoying right where I am.

I am free.
I have everything I need.
I was made for this,
to be the shining light of sea.
